Predicting Operational Variables

The use of SGS’s geometallurgical simulation tools to predict operational variables results in more rigorous and reliable operational practices and accurate production forecasting. Our geometallurgical simulation models consider geological, metallurgical, mineralogical and chemical influences on recovery and do not simply rely on chemical assays.

The block-by-block data generated using our geometallurgical programs will result in accurate mill designs, equipment scoping and production planning or forecasting. They can also highlight periods when production will experience challenges, giving operational staff time to address these challenges. In all of these cases, our computer modeling services minimize negative aspects that degrade productivity and profitability.

SGS has decades of experience using simulation to predict operational variables. We have developed several proven simulation tools to quantitatively forecast and plan production throughput with measured degrees of accuracy and precision. These include

  • Comminution Economic Evaluation Tool (CEET)
  • Flotation Economic Evaluation Tool (FLEET)
  • Integrated Geometallurgical Simulation (IGS)
